A website is not a one-time job. Platforms, themes and plugins update every few weeks, security certificates expire, forms stop sending and backups get forgotten. A website care plan (also called a maintenance plan) hands that routine work to a professional for a fixed monthly fee.
What a good website care plan includes
- Updates, tested: platform, theme and plugin or app updates applied and checked so nothing breaks.
- Off-site backups: weekly or daily copies stored away from your host, with a restore if something goes wrong.
- Security and uptime checks: 24/7 monitoring, SSL and malware checks, and someone who acts on alerts.
- Small edits: a set amount of time each month for text, image, price or opening-hours changes.
- A monthly report: a short summary of what was updated, backed up and fixed.
- Clear support times: how fast you get a reply, in writing.
What it usually does not include
Hosting, domain and paid plugin fees (billed by those providers), new pages, redesigns and new features. Ask any provider to state these exclusions up front so there are no surprise invoices.
How much does website maintenance cost?
Prices vary widely by provider and by what is included. Freelancers and agencies commonly charge from around US$50 a month for basic care to several hundred dollars a month for larger or e-commerce sites. Compare plans on three things: how much edit time is included, how often backups run, and how fast support replies.
Our plans
Website Care Plan Basic: AED 180 a month (about US$49 / £37 / €44). Updates, weekly backups, 24/7 uptime, SSL and malware checks, 30 minutes of edits and a monthly report. See Care Plan Basic.
Website Care Plan Pro: AED 365 a month (about US$99 / £75 / €89). Everything in Basic plus daily backups, 2 hours of edits, a monthly SEO check-up and priority support. See Care Plan Pro.
Both work with websites we build and with WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace and Webflow sites. Billed monthly, cancel anytime, no contract. SEO check-ups improve site health; nobody can honestly promise rankings.
Quick checklist before you choose any care plan
- Is there a written list of what is and is not included?
- Where are backups stored, and how often?
- How many minutes or hours of edits are included each month?
- What is the reply time for normal and urgent issues?
- Can you cancel without a fee?
